Two identical stairways from each side of Stockton Street at the north end of the tunnel up to the dead-end block of Stockton above the tunnel.

The walls were painted red in 2018 as part of the tunnel's new paint scheme, with yellow walls for the Union Square end and red for the Chinatown end.
