A dead-end stairway and sidewalk providing access to several residences at the very top of Nob Hill. The right-of-way continues all the way through to Clay Street, but is blocked off with a fence and retaining wall.

The stairway used to have a wood railing on the north side of the stairs, and a 1940s-1970s era stamped metal street sign at Washington Street. These were replaced when the stairway was "improved" in 2017.
