A short, dirty stairway built into the retaining wall between the upper and lower levels of Florida Street. The most notable feature of the
block is directly overhead: A long skywalk above the wall, connecting 1590 Bryant to 1634 Bryant. This skywalk was built in the 1940s to connect
two buildings owned by the Rainer Brewing Company, bypassing the 1600 Bryant in between the two. Until 2006, there was a second skywalk
across Florida Street connecting 1634 Bryant to the building now partially occupied by the San Francisco SPCA.
