Stairs up to the top of the retaining wall that divides Montgomery Street. Both the stairs and wall were built when this section of Montgomery Street was graded, probably in the 1930s.

This is the middle, and least picturesque section, of the three stairways that make up the Filbert Steps up Telegraph Hill.
