The name Coralino is Spanish for coral, fitting in with the naming scheme in Diamond Heights where many streets have the English names of gemstones, and stairways have the Spanish names. Gemstones may not be the first thing you associate with coral, but certain types of coral are indeed considered to be gemstones.
