Built between 2009 and 2010, as part of an improvement project for Bradford Street and Jarboe Avenue.
The block of Bradford at the bottom of the stairs is the
unofficial steepest street in San Francisco.
The bottommost section of the stairs was removed and replaced in late 2021 or early 2022 for the
construction of a new house in the previously empty lot at 332 Bradford.
