Built in 2007 as part of a project to improve the streets and provide connectivity in the area southeast of Bernal Hill.

At the bottom of the stairs is one of the only dirt roads in San Francisco. This road is city property, yet isn't an official street. It runs parallel to Bernal Heights Boulevard and connects the north end of Nevada Street to Carver Street.
